Influenza and covid-19 patient reported in Israel

Since the appearance of covid-19, the world must combine its efforts to combat the various variants that have hitherto been rife. In the midst of Omicron, a special case was reported in Israel. Indeed, a patient with influenza and covid-19 was admitted to hospital according to the israeli press. The patient is said to have been unvaccinated, but she was able to come out in good condition.

Hospital Beilinson de Petah Tikva reported the first case of seasonal influenza and covid-19 infection. The patient was pregnant and unvaccinated and presented with mild symptoms. The double infection has been named flurona (a contraction of flu-flu- and Corona). Doctors expect many similar unrecognized cases in the country. If some reports speak of the first case in the world, reports have already taken place in 2020 in the USA on possible cases of double infection.
