Informal merchants relocated to three markets in Los Teques

In the state of Miranda, the merchants who had informal sales stalls in the vicinity of the Los Teques Metro Independencia station were relocated to Mercado Plaza, the El Paso Municipal Market and on Francisco de Miranda avenue in Los Teques, and will begin with its new stalls on December 12.

The relocation of this group of 18 merchants was the product of an agreement reached in a meeting held on December 7 with the Municipal Markets Directorate of the Guaicaipuro Mayor’s Office, and Corpoguaica.

This was reported by the director of Municipal Markets, Eddy Rodríguez, who explained that prior to this meeting, a meeting was held with this group of 18 merchants, on October 13, where they were notified of the eviction, as well as their prompt relocation to spaces with permits from the municipality for the exercise of this economic activity.

He added that these merchants did not have the corresponding permits to operate on the land they were occupying, so the local government proceeded to act, in accordance with the municipal ordinance, and thus regularize the situation of that informal market, which also presented conditions of unsanitary

“The objective of this is that the merchants have decent and adequate spaces so that they can carry out their work correctly and adhere to the regulations,” Rodríguez concluded.
