Initial diagnosis of Percy Tau injury

Al-Ahly club announced the initial diagnosis of the injury of Percy Tau, the first team player, which he suffered during his participation in the Red Genie match against Al-Marikh of Sudan.

Syed Abdel Hafeez, Al-Ahly’s director of football, explained that the South African winger Percy Tau was replaced between the two halves of the Al-Merreikh match, because he felt pain in the area near the knee.

Abdel Hafeez said in statements on Al-Ahly channel: “Percy Tau did not leave today’s meeting due to a hamstring muscle injury, but rather suffered a bruise in the area near the knee.”

Al-Ahly’s football director added: “Percy Tao was going to participate in the second half of the match, but he felt pain, so we preferred to rest him, replace him between the two halves, and share Taher Muhammad Taher at his expense.”

For his part, Ahmed Abu Abla, head of the Al-Ahly club’s medical apparatus, said that the initial examination that Tao underwent showed that he had suffered a knee bruise, and he will undergo more careful examinations when the team returns to training in preparation for the upcoming matches.

Al-Ahly swept its Sudanese host Al-Merreikh by three goals to one, in the match that was held this Friday evening, at Al-Ahly Wei Al-Salam Stadium, for the fifth round of the group stage of the African Champions League.
