Court-Saint-Etienne recently placed new signs indicating the entrances and exits to the town. However, their installation is far from unanimous. Indeed, a resident published several photos of the said panels, showing their unusual location.
“How to spend public money unnecessarily”, he quips when faced with the signs installed in the middle of sidewalks or cycle paths. “I hope the SPW has the budget to pay for cyclists’ injuries because putting the poles in the middle of the cycle path is not very thoughtful,” said the resident. “For my safety, I will drive on the road,” adds a resident. “Incompetence at all levels,” protests yet another.
The Public Service of Wallonia, at the origin of the initiative, would not have consulted with the municipality. He was warned of the situation but has not yet reacted.
