Al-Marsad newspaper: Saudi flight attendant Alaa Khalawi revealed the reasons for forcing passengers to open the plane’s windows during take-off and landing.

Khalawi said during an interview with the “Sayidaty” program that the plane’s windows are opened so that the passengers’ eyes can adapt and become accustomed to the outside light, because the windows are closed throughout the flight.

The flight attendant also added that there is another reason related to passenger safety, which is to ensure good visibility in the event of an emergency.

She explained that if an emergency occurs abroad, the flight crew is notified, and then the responsible pilot is notified.
