The Integrated Transport Center in the Emirate of Abu Dhabi, affiliated with the Department of Municipalities and Transport, recorded a significant jump in the number of transactions completed during the year 2022, with a total of 15,708,091 transactions, an increase of 27% over the previous year, as the center launched several new services, including “fleets” for transporting goods and passengers by buses, And a “bus on demand” on Saadiyat Island, and rapid bus transportation “Abu Dhabi Express” in cooperation with transport companies in the private sector. The service level performance rate reached 95.8%, while the customer satisfaction and happiness index reached 95.59%.

The center announced that the number of passenger trips who used public transport buses during the year 2022 amounted to 70.6 million passenger trips, and the total fleet of public transport buses in the Emirate of Abu Dhabi reached 817 buses. In the same year, 25 new bus shelters were constructed, bringing the total number of bus shelters in the emirate to 565.

The center also achieved outstanding results in its digital transformation process, as the number of transactions completed electronically and through digital channels reached 15,704,487 transactions, which constitutes 99.98% of the total transactions.

The center operated a new public bus transportation service, which provides a space inside the bus that allows cyclists to transport their bicycles with them on the buses. The number of passenger trips within the Abu Dhabi Express service reached 257,180 trips made by 40 buses belonging to private sector companies.

The number of passengers who used taxis last year reached 76 million, an increase of 19% over the previous year, through 42 million trips. By the end of the year, the number of taxis operating in the emirate reached 6,390, including 222 airport taxis.

The number of vehicles with low carbon emissions reached 4,822 vehicles, which constitute 78% of the fleet of vehicles operating in the emirate, and last year witnessed the provision of 84% of the taxi fleet with electronic payment devices.

The number of taxis operating according to smart applications reached 1,257 vehicles belonging to Uber and Careem, while the total number of trips made by those vehicles reached 2.05 million. for two companies.

The year 2022 witnessed the launch of the second phase of the smart mobility project on Yas Island and Saadiyat Island, which so far includes a fleet of 17 self-driving vehicles operating under the “TAXI” brand within a network of tracks distributed over 9 diverse locations on Yas Island in Abu Dhabi. Self-driving 2,130 trips, 86,100 km traveled.

During the year 2022, the traffic management team at the Integrated Transport Center improved the performance of the timing of the traffic lights network at 226 intersections in order to operate the signals efficiently and with high reliability, and (29) new traffic lights were opened.

In terms of traffic diversions on the right of way, the Traffic Department issued 14,646 permits for traffic diversions, and the percentage of compliance with safety measures at diversions sites reached 99.2%. In terms of school transport, (5) awareness campaigns were organized for school bus drivers and supervisors. It was attended by 240 bus drivers and 130 supervisors.

And the Integrated Transport Center announced that the length of the network of paths designated for cycling and walking in the emirate increased in the year 2022 to 987 km, distributed over 660 km in the city of Abu Dhabi and its environs, 259 km in the city of Al Ain and its environs, and 68 km in the Al Dhafra region.

The center issued 13,796 permits for fixed-term subscriptions for public parking, and the total number of available parking lots in the Abu Dhabi region by the end of the year reached 148,282 surface parking spaces distributed over 123 sectors, and 3,788 floor parking spaces in 7 floor buildings.
