Intel announces new AI PC program for software developers and vendors

Generative artificial intelligence is a trend in many sectors of which we often only see the final result. In the backend of an innovation of this kind there are infrastructures and systems that must be updated, shared and, as far as possible, made interoperable. A scenario in which hi-tech big names can, indeed must, play an essential role in pushing innovation. In this regard, Intel has announced a couple of new initiatives within the AI PC Acceleration Program: the AI PC Developer Program and the inclusion of Independent Hardware Vendors in the process which will push, according to the giant, to optimize and maximize the power of artificial intelligence on over 100 million PCs with the brand’s processors by 2025.

AI PC Developer Program

The AI PC Developer Program is designed specifically for developers and independent software vendors (ISVs) to provide an easy development experience and facilitate the adoption of new AI technologies at scale. The initiative also provides access to tools, workflows, AI implementation frameworks and developer kits, featuring the latest Intel hardware based on Intel Core Ultra processors. To mark the occasion, Intel is also publishing new resources to access toolkits, documentation and training for PC AI. This information is intended to help developers take full advantage of Intel Core Ultra processor technologies and support new use cases. Adding Independent Hardware Vendors (IHVs) to the AI PC Acceleration Program offers the opportunity to prepare, optimize, and enable your own hardware for Intel AI PCs. Qualified partners have access to Intel’s Open Labs, where they receive technical and co-engineering support in the early stages of development of their hardware solutions and platforms.

Qualified IHV partners

Additionally, through this program, Intel is providing reference hardware so that qualified IHV partners can test and optimize their technology to perform as efficiently as possible at launch. As a company note highlights, AI will fundamentally change many aspects of people’s lives, including how they work, learn, connect and create. “With optimized software and hardware, powered by Intel’s cutting-edge platform – central processing unit, neural processing unit and graphics processing unit – everyone can reap the benefits of AI with an AI PC.” Through its programs, Intel offers developers access to the latest software optimization kits and tools, as well as solutions to improve compatibility and the overall end-user experience. The AI PC Acceleration Program, announced in October 2023, aims to connect independent hardware and software vendors with Intel’s resources, including AI toolchain, training, co-engineering, software optimization, hardware , design resources, technical expertise, co-marketing and sales opportunities.
