Intel Arc Alchemist: Intel broke a promise

Remember, Intel announced the release of its Arc A7 and A5 graphics cards during this summer of 2022. But now, unfortunately the last day of summer was yesterday: September 23rd. Summer has passed and we still don’t see these cards on the market. Moreover, even the A380, which is an entry-level product, is not yet easily available everywhere.

Finally, we will not have had the Intel Arc A7 cards this summer

Not only are the cards still not available, but we also don’t have a date or even official pricing. On the other hand, a short time ago we saw that the cards should be ready to launch very quicklyat least according to Raja Koduri.

On the other hand, Intel finally took so long to launch its high-end cards (in the Intel range) that NVIDIA is already launching its new generation cards with the RTX 4090 which arrives on the market on October 12 and the RTX 4080 16 and 12 GB for the month of November. Likewise, AMD is launching its new Radeon RX 7000 graphics cards on November 3.

Which means that instead of facing the RTX 3000 and Radeon RX 6000, the Intel A7 and A5 cards will have to face the RTX 4000 and RX 7000. From there, the prices really had better be ultra -competitive so that they are at least interesting for the gamer. Because yes, NVIDIA and AMD are not targeting the mid-range sector for the moment, but only the high-end segment. While the mid-range is precisely the sector targeted by the A7 and A5. Nevertheless, the longer Intel delays, the less interesting the cards will become on the market in the face of competition.

Intel is hosting its event Intel innovation on September 27, during which the company would unveil the 13th generation Raptor Lake-S desktop processors. This would be the perfect time to launch its graphics cards as well. Thus, the company would finally keep its old promise to launch “desktop GPUs in the third quarter”.
