Intel Arc graphics cards canceled

It’s not the first time we talk about the possible cancellation of Intel Arc graphics cards. But today, this information seems to take on even more weight. In effect, it is the youtubeur Moore’s Law is Dead who announces it, decision was reportedly made to cancel graphics cards after Battlemage. We would therefore still see the Alchemist generation and then the Battlemage generation, but Celestial and Druid would not see the light of day. This information was even taken up by Anthony from the TweakTown site.

Intel Arc GPU: it’s already over for graphics cards

According to the information disclosed, this could simply be due to a lack of financial resources on the part ofIntel and not from a lack of will. And that is obviously very bad news. Indeed, many were waiting for this third player on the market, if only for the good of the consumer who would necessarily see more competitive prices since there would be more offers on the shelves.

Intel Arc graphics card cancellation

We must admit that the communication around Intel Arc Alchemist has been quite disastrous, between the delays, the paper launches and the tests ultimately very disappointing, it did not bode well. Note, however, that this only concerns graphics cards for gaming use, the line for the data center remains open.

Among the sources of MLID, here is what was said:

  • “Arc is over” – Intel executive level
  • “The decision has been made” – source Intel
  • “Intel is ending the Discrete Arc” – source Intel
  • “I know AXG is doing well with the public, but internally here (Intel) there’s not a whole lot of optimism that Arc will survive”
  • “From what I see, Battlemage appears to be a single low-end or mid-range dice”
  • “It’s been a long night here… Arc is over”
  • “The decision was made at the top to end the discreet”
