Artificial intelligence will be everywhere, and Intel wants to be there too. This is in essence the message launched Thursday in New York by the semiconductor giant during an event entitled “AI Everywhere”, at the Nasdaq premises. Pat Gelsinger, CEO of Intel, presented his new ranges of PC and server chips, specifically designed to accelerate AI-related calculations.

In the PC market, which experienced a year of decline following the post-pandemic sales surge, the big news is called Intel Core Ultra. According to the group, this is the greatest innovation in the architecture of its processors in forty years. Instead of being engraved on a single silicon wafer, the Core Ultra is in fact an assembly of “tiles”, that is to say chips specialized in calculation (“central processing unit”, CPU), the display (“graphics processing unit”, GPU) and artificial intelligence (“neural processing unit”, NPU).
