Intense day in the Asturian mountains. The Rescue Group of the Emergency Service of the Principality of Asturias (SEPA) has had to respond to two requests in just over ten minutes. The first notice came moments before 2:30 p.m., when they received a call reporting that a woman had been injured on Ruta del Cares, in Cabrales. The rescue team was immediately mobilized on board the medicalized aircraft.
Once in the area, after attending to the affected person, a crane operation was carried out with which the aircraft, the rescue doctor and the injured hiker were hoisted up and they were transferred to the Regional Hospital of Arriondas. The woman, who had a possible wrist fracture, has been transferred to the Regional Hospital of Arriondas.

A few minutes later, at 2:40 p.m., the Emergency Coordination Center received a notice of a woman injured in the foot in the area between Valle del Lago and Picos Albos, in Somiedo. After finishing the intervention in Cabrales, the rescue team went with the aircraft to Cangas de Onís, to refuel and leave for Somiedo.
The whistleblowers explained that it was a group of about 20 people from Portugal, making a route, when one of them injured her foot. Once in the area, the affected person was attended to and a crane operation was carried out with which the injured woman and the rescuer were extracted, and they were hoisted on board the aircraft. Once on board, she was transferred to the Cangas del Narcea soccer field where a basic life support ambulance mobilized by SAMU awaited for her transfer to the Cangas del Narcea Hospital.
The SEPA 112 room reported the event to the Civil Guard, the Urgent Medical Care Service (SAMU) and in the case of Cabrales to the 112 of Castilla y León and Cantabria.
