Police carried out a manhunt near Aalst, in Erembodegem, on Sunday evening looking for one or more individuals, local police said. The person(s) sought have not been found.
Police began a pursuit of a car on the E40 motorway on Sunday evening. The vehicle stopped on the highway near Erembodegem and one or more passengers got out. “We do not know whether it is one or more people,” explains a spokesperson for the Antwerp police. These individual(s) fled, for a reason still unknown.
Drones and dogs were deployed, as well as a federal police helicopter. “Around 7:15 p.m., we stopped the search,” said the spokesperson.
The manhunt is said to have started in the vicinity of Brussels.
