Today, the world is focusing on Russia’s brutality against Ukraine, reminiscent of Slovakia’s enslavement by Big Red a few decades ago, and so understands the threat of Taiwan’s immediate proximity to a communist power.
Lehotsky said that he believed that the lessons of the Russian aggressors from the world’s democratic camps would serve as a warning to all who attempt to commit brutal acts.
President of the Legislative Assembly, You Xikun, hosted a luncheon to receive the delegation. In his speech, he said to the Slovak delegation that the San Francisco Peace Treaty, signed by 49 countries around the world on April 28, 1952, is the real international treaty and the official one. The international legal framework dealing with Taiwan’s status, Taiwan is a sovereign and independent country.
