International Conference on Bee Health | handles

The objective is to take stock of the proposals of two agencies on the assessment of phytosanitary products and their impact on the health of bees and pollinating insects.

This day is also an opportunity to present the research results of our laboratory in Sophia Antipolis, the European Union reference laboratory (LRUE) on bee health.

Open to a wide audience of beekeepers, researchers, public decision-makers, companies, professional representatives and the media, the conference leaves room for debate and constructive exchanges with scientists and French and European stakeholders.

Particularly active in strengthening the protection of bees, ANSES, in a recent opinion, reiterated the importance of developing marketing authorization risk assessment methods. In particular, it recommended relying on the EFSA guide document, which notably makes it possible to better assess the long-term risks for bees and other pollinators. Furthermore, the Agency stressed the need to set regulatory threshold values at European level for chronic risks in order to harmonize the criteria relating to the decision to place products on the market.
