International – Milan with zero number at Sassuolo

Cologne (SID) – The Italian soccer champions AC Milan just barely missed their first defeat of the season. The Rossoneri mightn’t get past a meager 0-0 at Sassuolo Calcio and were even lucky that goalkeeper Mike Maignan was able to save a penalty kick from international Domenico Berardi (23′).

Berardi had to be replaced in tears in the second half (52nd) with a suspected serious knee injury. As expected, newcomer Malick Thiaw from Bundesliga club Schalke 04 was not yet in the Milan squad.

After two home wins and two draws away from home, the defending champion has eight points and has temporarily taken over the top of the table. Milan are unbeaten in 20 league games in all seasons.
