By engaging in our organization as a volunteer, you will represent our international team in Mwanza (a city of almost 4 million inhabitants) and will be responsible for the development of clubs in your favorite sport. While you can impart a lot of knowledge to coaches and youngsters, you will find that you can learn a lot from them as well.
Internship – Sport Project Manager M/F
(Duration: min. 3 to 4 months; date: as soon as possible; type: unpaid internship; location: Mwanza, TANZANIA)
Sports Charity Mwanza is a Tanzanian NGO whose mission is to create sustainable sports infrastructure in Mwanza. In collaboration with the city and regional sports associations, our Tanzanian (15 employees) and international (8 volunteers) team raise funds, build sports fields and provide essential equipment to clubs or teams for good sports practice.
Responsibilities & Skills:
● Participate in the creation of actions in the sport for which you are responsible through teamwork
● Combined role between coach, social worker and project manager
● Evaluate our efficiency, produce reports, participate in the development of our NGO (organizational and commercial) and seek funds
● Manage public relations and create a network with coaches, federations, schools
● Master English level B2 minimum (an experience abroad is a plus), the Office pack
Profile required:
● Real desire to work for a humanitarian and sporting cause
● Openness to new cultures different from the Western one
● Enthusiasm for sport and social work; ideally with experience as a trainer
● Organizational skills, flexibility, ambition and autonomous/proactive work style
● Dynamic, team spirit and communication skills
