Intersport has pledged to take over 72 stores from the Go Sport brand, which means that 9 will close their doors permanently. Here is the list.
Intersport will take over 72 Go Sport stores, but 9 other stores will close permanently, according to information from BFM Business. Stores mainly located in shopping centers or business areas in the west and south-east of France.
- Lann Sevelin business area, in Lanester (Morbihan)
- Casino K’Store shopping mall, in Grenoble (Isère)
- Le Mans Nord business park, in La Chapelle-Saint-Aubin (Sarthe)
- Givors 2 Vallées shopping center, in Givors (Rhône)
- Bourse shopping center, in Marseille (Bouches-du-Rhône)
- Rising Sun shopping center, in Montélimar (Drôme)
- Saint-Sever shopping mall, in Rouen (Seine-Maritime)
- Center Deux shopping center in Saint-Étienne (Loire)
- Espace de la Motte, in Vesoul (Haute-Saône)
113 employees concerned
A total of 113 permanent employees are affected by these closures. They will be able to benefit from a priority reclassification within the Intersport group if they wish. In addition, 50 Go Sport stores out of the 72 taken over will pass under the Intersport brand, according to the management of the latter. Affiliated stores in France (around 30 under the Go Sport brand and around 40 under the Endurance Shop brand), as well as franchise stores abroad, are not affected by these takeovers and closures.
