Micron Introduces New UFS 4.0 Mobile Storage Unit, Another Option for Faster Data The highlight of UFS 4.0 from Micron is that it can read-write data almost 2 times faster than Samsung!? The new technology will be used in three capacities, 256GB, 512GB and 1TB, built on 232-layer TLC flash (tri-level cells, i.e. storing 3 bits per cell), using a 6-plane NAND architecture enabling writes. Micron claims its UFS 4.0 delivers read speeds of up to 4,300 MBps and write speeds of up to 4,000 MBps, far exceeding UFS 4.0. of Samsung (Read 4,200 MBps/Write 2,800 MBps)! In addition, Micron’s new UFS 4.0 chip is 25% more power efficient and has an average 10% lower write latency compared to the competition.
