(CNN) The U.S. Presidential Guard (Secret Service) has until the 21st, a suspicious person broke into the home of President Sullivan, who is in charge of national security affairs, in late April of this year without being noticed by the security personnel who are on duty 24 hours a day. He acknowledged that an unusual situation had occurred.

He said that he took seriously the blunder of allowing a high-ranking official to break into his home, and that he was investigating details such as the route of entry.

Sources said the break-in occurred in the early hours of the morning at a home in the capital, Washington. Mr. Sullivan, who was at home, encountered the intruder at home, but was unharmed. An aide told investigators that the intruder appeared to be intoxicated.

Sullivan said there was no threat of harm. The intruder then left without the guards even knowing.

Secret Service Chief Cheettle took the scandal bitterly and ordered an investigation. Members who were on duty at Sullivan’s home at the time were transferred to clerical positions while the investigation proceeded.
