Investigation against the Malayalee who drowned after committing fraud in Turkey

Abu Dhabi: An investigation has been launched against a Malayalee who swindled crores of rupees in Turkey and returned home. Aneesh Karippakulam, a native of Cheruthuruthy, Thrissur, who worked for Lulu Group’s Iustanbul, Turkey, came home from Turkey.

The Istanbul Public Prosecution has launched an investigation into a criminal complaint against Aneesh. The charges include breach of trust and defamation of the reputation of the employer. Proceedings have already begun to issue an arrest warrant against him in Turkey. The Indian embassy has also been informed about this.

Aneesh, who has been with the Lulu Group for more than a decade, arrived in Istanbul in October 2017. While working as a marketing manager at Lulu’s Istanbul office, he was accused of large-scale corruption by starting deals with suppliers on his own. During this period, Aneesh unknowingly made transactions worth US $ 2.5 lakh (approximately Rs. 2 crore).

Lulu’s authorities received clear information about the deal when he returned home for the anniversary. Aneesh, who returned to Istanbul after a holiday, was asked to go to the Abu Dhabi head office and investigate. Aneesh escaped home on the pretext of going to Abu Dhabi. A complaint was lodged with the Istanbul Police and the Indian Embassy against Aneesh. Nandakumar informed.
