The Attorney General’s Office visited the headquarters of the Health Superintendency to collect supporting documentation on the forced intervention that the entity carried out on EPS Sanitas and Nueva EPS.
After the visit, the control entity stated that Supersalud does not have an administrative file in which all the supporting information that supports such interventions is recorded. The Attorney General, Luis Ramiro Escandón, for his part, rejected the statements of the Superintendent of Health, Luis Carlos Leal, in which he assured that he did not receive notification of the visit from the Public Ministry:
“I vehemently reject the statements, contrary to the truth, made a few minutes ago by the Superintendent, in which he states that this attorney did not inform him of the reason for the hearing. I also record that to date there is no administrative file in it, all the information that supported the resolutions of seizure and intervention of both Sanitas and Nueva EPS are recorded,” he assured.
And the Attorney General’s Office had announced the beginning of an investigation against the Superintendent of Health, Luis Carlos Leal, for alleged irregularities during the takeover and forced intervention of the EPS Sanitas, as well as for the assignment of its controller Dúver Dicson Vargas.
