Investigation Reveals Animal Cruelty at Country House: Help Animals Takes Action

2023-12-03 15:13:00

The animals were kept in a country house by a “repeat offender already known to the authorities”, who kept them in “unbearable conditions”, according to Help Animals. “The scene was apocalyptic, corpses littered the ground, trampled by their still living counterparts, there were birds everywhere,” explains the director of the association Fabrizio Follacchio.

Among the birds rescued were chickens, peacocks and even turkeys, as well as three emus. Teams also discovered cages full of chicks and parakeets in a shed. Some animals presented serious health problems, a sign of the deplorable conditions in which they lived, and will require significant care.

Places in different shelters have been found throughout Belgium to take care of the birds.
