This solution looks really interesting. I have repeatedly seen the opinion that iOS is too flat, and it would be great if it had some volume. Some users are not even aware of their existence in individual applications, but now they will definitely be noticeable.
But what I definitely question is the change in the shape of the icons. Although they look round in the screenshots shown, I am 99.9% sure that Apple will not move away from the usual square with rounded corners in the iPhone. This element is too strongly associated with the iPhone, and Cupertino understands this very well. However, the idea of making iOS 18 more voluminous seems good to me.
