Apple today released new versions of its operating systems (iOS 17.3, iPadOS 17.3, macOS Sonoma 14.3, watchOS 10.3, tvOS 17.3 and more). Along with the new features, the company fixed some bugs — as usual.

No total, iOS/iPadOS 17.3 offers enhanced security with 15 fixes. On the other hand, macOS 14.3 goes a little further, bringing 16. It’s worth noting that several of these fixes are applicable to both iOS/iPadOS and macOS.

Among the problems fixed, the most serious was in the WebKit. A security breach could let hackers control a device without permission. This flaw, in fact, would have already been exploited by malicious agents.

Another problem focused on the Neural Engine, which could let someone run dangerous commands on the device. The search for the Mail it was also somewhat compromised, which could let third-party apps see the user’s private information.

An error in the app Shortcuts (Shortcuts) has been fixed, which could lead to misuse of sensitive data. Finally, a problem with the time zones was also repaired; in it, some apps could see the user’s phone number in the system records.

The new updates bring corrections, but also new features for the devices. For example, now in iOS 17.3 and macOS Sonoma 14.3, you can create collaborative playlists in Apple Music. Additionally, Apple has finally released Stolen Device Protection (Stolen Device Protection).
