The Hawkeyes (16-11, 8-8 Big Ten Conference) followed up their big home win over Wisconsin with a rare victory at Breslin Center on Tuesday night. The 78-71 win over Michigan State got Iowa back to .500 in the league for the first time since Jan. 15.
Meanwhile, Illinois (19-7, 10-5) enters Saturday’s contest coming off a different situation. The Fighting Illini collapsed late Wednesday night at Penn State for a tough 90-89 loss. Illinois, though, has won five of its last seven games.
