YouTube channel AppleTrack introduced the upcoming iPhone 16 Pro and iPhone 16 Pro Max in detail, starting with the display. After several years, Apple will finally expand the panel size of these two models, from the 6.1-inch screen size of the iPhone 15 Pro to the 6.3-inch screen size of the iPhone 16 Pro. The display of the iPhone 16 Pro Max is expected to increase to 6.9 inches from the 6.7 inches of the iPhone 15 Pro Max.

Most people know that besides the increase in screen size, the biggest advantage of larger smartphones is that there is enough space to install a larger battery. Unfortunately, the iPhone 16 Pro’s battery capacity is only 3355 mAh, which is only an increase of 2.48% from the iPhone 15 Pro’s 3274 mAh. Hopefully these specs will change, as it’s time for Apple to keep pace with its competitors and use bigger batteries.

One of the most significant changes is reducing the size of the animated island. In one of the renderings, the iPhone 16 Pro adopts a front-hole punch design, and earlier rumors even stated that Apple is testing a model with this special design. The complete punch hole of the “Smart Island” may shrink Smaller, but looking at Apple’s history with iPhones, the company typically sticks with the same design for a few years before launching a different product into global markets.

There is also said to be a new “capture” shutter button for video shooting. As for the cameras, both “Pro” models launching later this year are rumored to be equipped with 5x quad-prism optical zoom cameras. Last year, only the iPhone 15 Pro Max came with this hardware, so consumers will be happy to upgrade to the iPhone 16 Pro when the new phone becomes available, rather than having to spend money on a top-tier flagship. As for the chip, AppleTrack believes that the “Pro” name will be retained this year, and the new SoC will be called A18 Pro.

Earlier, leaked iOS 18 code showed that Apple would not use the A17 Pro in the cheaper iPhone 16 models, but would instead move directly to the A18. As for whether the A18 is just a replacement of the A17 Pro, we will reveal it in the future, but for now, the company may mass-produce a completely different chip.
