While the iPhone SE 3 is expected next week, several analysts are suggesting that Apple will soon offer a cheaper iPhone SE below $200. Such an affordable price would bring even more users to iOS.
The third generation of the iPhone SE with the A15 Bionic chip should be announced next week. Apple would actually hold a conference on March 8, 2022 during which the iPhone SE 3 and the new iPad Air would be revealed. The iPhone SE 3 should allow Apple to offer an iPhone SE under the $200 mark.
This very affordable price will obviously not be attributed to the iPhone SE 3 which would rather be sold at around $300-400. Nevertheless, the Cupertino company could take advantage of the release of the iPhone SE 3 to lower the price of the existing modelthe iPhone SE 2 (2020).
The iPhone SE would be sold at an ultra competitive price to attract more users on iOS
Bloomberg analyst Mark Gurman explained in his latest podcast that Apple should continue to sell the iPhone SE 2 after the release of the third generation. The Cupertino company could sell it to 199 $a very competitive price even compared to Android smartphones.
Thus, Apple could convert up to a billion Android users to iOS with iPhone SE. The Cupertino company won’t profit from a $199 iPhone, but users will spend in the various services offered by Apple. They would also offer other complementary devices such as AirPods or an Apple Watch.
Additionally, Loop Capital Markets analyst John Donovan suggests that the cheap iPhone SE 3 could be sold from $299 This year.
