Normally expected these days, the new version of iOS 17 is long overdue. We take stock of the release date of iOS 17.3.
Apple is setting the stage for a major new update, iOS 17.3, with some interesting changes. But it won’t be a revolutionary update. Scheduled for release before the end of January, this update may not be the largest, but it brings significant improvements.
With a probable launch the week of January 22, the “Release candidate” version of the update could see the light of day in the coming hours after three beta versions. An alternative would be the week of the 29th, but that would coincide with the launch of visionOS and the Vision Pro headset.
Two new features
This update is particularly anticipated for its protection function against stolen devices. It prevents thieves from accessing sensitive information by locking certain features behind Face ID, providing increased security.
Additionally, iOS 17.3 introduces Apple Music Collaborative Playlists, allowing multiple users to contribute to a shared playlist.
These features add a new dimension to the Apple experience. Even if the new features will not create the “wow” effect among users, they at least have the merit of existing.
