iPhones 13 and 14 will gain support for Qi2 recharging in iOS 17.2; see what’s new about RCs!

As expected, the iOS 17.2 and Apple’s other operating systems are expected to be released next week — given that the versions Release Candidate were released earlier today. The new version of the system for iPhones even brings some features that were not included in previous betas.

One of the highlights is the recharge support Qi2 for iPhones 13 and 14. The technology promises not only greater efficiency for chargers, but also faster recharges — although Apple has not yet confirmed whether its models will support 15W recharges with the standard, as is the case via MagSafe. The first supported products are expected to ship later this year.

iOS 17.2 will also improve the cameras on the iPhones 15 Pro and 15 Pro Max. In the update’s technical notes, Apple highlighted improvements in the telephoto lens’ ability to quickly focus on distant objects.

The application Tempo (Weather), in turn, received three new widgets with the new version. The first of them, “Details” (“Details”), provides quick information in a small widget. The second, “Daily Forecast” (“Daily Forecast”), is very similar, but instead of information about the weather at a given moment, it provides the maximum and minimum temperatures for the next few days. The third and last, “Sunrise and Sunset” (“Sunrise and Sunset”), as its name suggests, shows information about sunrise and sunset and remains small in size.

Additionally, iOS 17.2 and watchOS 10.2 will introduce Siri’s ability to access and interact with the app Health (Health). This will allow users — especially on the Apple Watch Series 9 and Ultra 2 — to ask the assistant questions about the data. Interactions include queries about steps taken, heart rate, blood glucose levels and much more. With this, Siri will also be able to record various health-related data.

Finally, in tvOS 17.2, Apple closed the iTunes Movies app, redirecting users to the new Apple TV app. The transition, as we anticipated, was already expected and aligns with the company’s plans to reformulate/unify the application.
