Captain Sanju Samson (82 not out from 52 balls) led from the front as Rajasthan posted 194 for four at the Jaipur Sawai Mansingh Stadium. Rian Parag (43 off 29 balls) was brilliant for Rajasthan who won the toss and elected to bat. Naveen Ul Haq took two wickets for Lucknow.

Rajasthan got off to a slow start on a slow wicket. Opener Jos Buttler (11) struggled well. By the time he regained his confidence by scoring two boundaries, the wicket was lost. In the last ball of the second over, wicketkeeper KL Rahul was caught by Naveen. Then Sanju and Jaiswal added 36 runs. But Muhsin gave Lucknow a break through by dismissing Jaiswal. Caught by Krunal Pandya at mid off while attempting a pull shot. With this, Rajasthan were 49 for 2 in five overs.

Then the Sanju-Parag partnership came to Rajasthan’s rescue. Both of them added 93 runs. This partnership was also the backbone of the Rajasthan innings. The partnership fell apart in the 15th over. Parag was kicked out by Naveen. Next up was Shimron Hetmeyer (5). Ravi Bishnoi got the wicket. Dhruv Jural (20 off 12 balls) who came to the crease as the sixth man also made a crucial contribution.
