Damascus – President Ebrahim Raisi became the first Iranian head of state since the start of the civil war in Syria in 2011 to visit Damascus on Wednesday. During his two-day visit, Raisi will hold “extensive” talks with the Syrian ruler Bashar al-Assad, the Syrian state news agency Sana reported. Raisi will be accompanied by a “large delegation” of government and business representatives.
