A statement was read out at the meeting, condemning the U.S. government’s blatant violation of Iraqi territory, attacks on affiliated facilities and senior commanders of Iraqi government agencies, and disregard of Iraqi sovereignty. The statement emphasized that the implementation of “assassination” operations in Iraq revealed that the US military concealed its true intentions on the pretext of assisting the Iraqi government in counter-terrorism. Mandarawi announced at the meeting that he had received a draft proposal for the withdrawal of foreign troops from Iraq submitted by 100 representatives of the National Assembly, and directed the establishment of a committee within the framework of the National Assembly to follow up on the Iraqi government and the international cooperation led by the United States. As the alliance negotiates its withdrawal from Iraq, Mandarawi said that he will invite the Commander-in-Chief of the Iraqi Armed Forces and Prime Minister Sudani to attend relevant meetings in the near future to further discuss recent violations of Iraq’s sovereignty.
