The rumor mill is churning. After this year’s double World Championship on Big Island, the 2023 IRONMAN World Championship might already take place in Nice, France – at least half of it. The plan is to separate the men’s and women’s races not only in terms of time but also space.
While the women (professionals and age-groupers) will contest the World Championship race in Hawaii in October 2023 as planned, the men’s race (professionals and age-groupers) will be relocated to France and will be held in Nice on September 10th. In the following year, 2024, this division will be swapped, ie men’s World Cup in Hawaii, women’s World Cup in France.
