*Members of Somos Perú would be behind these mismanagement in the contract process, according to indigenous organizations.
The Federations and organizations, which represent the indigenous peoples of the Loreto/Nauta districts, denounced mismanagement in the hiring process of bilingual teachers for teachers from native communities.
They demand that the regional governor, Rene Chávez Silvano, establish a dialogue table with the indigenous federations, to implement a Bilingual Intercultural Education policy and guarantee an adequate hiring process.
“We will not allow intercultural education to be politicized, all the regional governors that succeeded did the same. This new management should make a difference”, they point out in a statement.
They warn that if these bad practices continue, the indigenous federations and teachers will take defense actions.
