Günter Bresnik once led Dominic Thiem from a young age to the top of the world before the collaboration ended in 2019.

“Please stop”: Why people are pushing Dominic Thiem to end his career
There have recently been increasing public calls for a Bresnik comeback among Thiem’s supervisory staff. The 62-year-old now took a position in his “Trainer Box” column that appeared in the “Salzburger Nachrichten”:
“One thing is certain for me: If Dominic says yes to a serious attempt, then he will find the right trainer for him – and no trainer who practices his job with heart and soul can say no.”
Since Bresnik corresponds to this trainer profile, this can be seen as an offer to Thiem.
While the tennis ace described the separation from Bresnik in 2019 as a kind of emancipation, a public mud fight followed between his father and Bresnik. This is not the best prerequisite for renewed cooperation.
