ISEM TRAINS IN HIGH SPECIALTY DURING THE FIRST SYMPOSIUM IN EMERGENCY MEDICINE

Toluca, State of Mexico, September 3, 2022.

PIn order to strengthen high-specialty medical care and clinical emergencies, the State of Mexico Health Institute (ISEM) held the First Symposium on Emergency Medicine, in which more than 500 workers assigned to hospitals of the entity participated.

This activity was carried out at the General Hospital “Dr. Nicolás San Juan”, in Toluca, within the framework of its 35th Anniversary, was aimed at specialist and general physicians, nursing staff, paramedics, residents and students from the Health areas, in coordination with the Autonomous University of the State of Mexico ( UAEM).

This first symposium included more than 20 academic activities and speakers from national health institutes such as the “La Raza” Medical Center and the Juárez Hospital in Mexico.

The activities began with an electroencephalographic monitoring workshop and there will be presentations related to legal medicine in the emergency service, sepsis code, heart attack and stroke, epidemiology of poisonous animals, management of intoxicated patients, nephrological assessment, pulmonary thromboembolism, air transfer in emergency, intervention of multiple victims, mechanical ventilation, to refer.

Among the more than 500 participants in this academic activity, professionals from ISEM, the Social Security Institute of the State of Mexico and Municipalities (ISSEMyM), as well as from the National Institutes of Cardiology, Security and Social Services for Workers of the State (ISSSTE) and Mexican Social Security (IMSS), as well as hospitals and clinics in the private sector.

The authorities that coordinated this event pointed out that after the COVID-19 pandemic, there is a transition in the expansion of specialty medical services while endorsing the commitment to education in the entity.

They added that together with the Medical Center “Lic. Adolfo López Mateos” of ISEM, in the Valley of Toluca care is offered to about 3 million Mexiquenses, so first contact and emergency specialists are of the utmost importance in the state health system.

Finally, ISEM authorities added that the various medical units, including the General Hospital “Dr. Nicolás San Juan”, are committed to academic excellence in favor of the Mexican population.
