Madgaon: Three Kerala Blasters FC players in the ISL Team of the Week for the twelfth week of ISL (ISL 2021-22). Players maker Adrian Luna, Harmanjot Khabra and Nishu Kumar are the other Blasters players in the squad. Gurpreet Singh Sandhu of Bengaluru FC is the goalkeeper.
The other players in the squad are Laldin Liana of Jamshedpur, Greg Stuart, Roshan Nair of Bengaluru, Danish Farooq, Prince Ibarra, Edu Garcia of Hyderabad and Jorge Ortiz of Goa. Blasters player Nishu Kumar has also been named in the match for the best goal of the week. The goal against Odisha made Nishukumar a contender.
Kovid: The Blasters’ game has changed
The Kerala Blasters-Mumbai City match scheduled for today in the ISL has been postponed due to Kovid’s concerns. The decision was taken by the ISL authorities in the interest of the safety of the players and officials. ISL officials said in a statement that the Blasters did not have enough players for the match.
The ISL rule is that a team must have at least 15 players who are Kovid negative. The Blasters players have not trained for the past four days. The updated date of the competition will be announced later. The Blasters are currently top of the league with 20 points from 11 games. Kovid’s confirmation on most teams has raised concerns about the future of the tournament.
