The north of the Gaza Strip is a combat zone and its residents should flee to the south. This was the Israeli military’s instruction to the approximately two million residents of the coastal area when the war began in October, following Hamas’ pogrom-like terror against civilians in southern Israel. Hundreds of thousands responded to the call – according to the UN, 400,000 are currently in the city of Rafah near the Egyptian border, and another 300,000 have fled to Khan Younis, which is in the center of southern Gaza. Israel’s military warned at the weekend that they should leave exactly this place.
