Tel Aviv: Israel claims to have destroyed Iranian spy network. Shin Bet, the Israeli security agency, has charged five people with espionage. The action is against four women and one man. According to Israeli media reports, the suspects are Jewish immigrants from Iran. Meanwhile, Israeli Prime Minister Naphtali Bennett praised those involved for defeating the ‘terrorist act’.
Israel also alleges that the spies were recruited by Rambod Namdar, an Iranian intelligence agent. According to Israeli media reports, the man, who claims to be a Jew, paid women thousands of dollars to photograph Israel’s top secret locations and buildings, monitor the country’s security arrangements and liaise with politicians.

However, the women’s lawyer said they did not know he was working for Iran. “I do not intend to undermine Israeli security,” he said. At the same time, Shin Bet responded that this was a serious case and that there were plans to establish an Iranian spy network inside Israel and that there were serious allegations against women.
