The Ministry of Health in the Gaza Strip announced that the Israeli occupation committed new massacres, raising the death toll since the beginning of the war to more than 32 thousand martyrs.

Veto in the Security Council

At the international level, Russia and China used their veto power against a draft American resolution in the UN Security Council regarding the war on Gaza, on Friday, as opponents described the draft as politicized, ambiguous, and “frees Israel’s hand.”

The US delegate to the Security Council, Linda Thomas-Greenfield, expressed her regret at the use of veto by Russia and China, and said that the first goal of the United States is to reach an immediate and sustainable ceasefire in Gaza “within the framework of a deal to release the hostages.”

British delegate Barbara Woodward also expressed her disappointment at Russia and China’s failure to support the American draft resolution.

As for the Russian delegate, Vasily Nebenzia, he said in his speech before the Council that the American draft resolution is an attempt to enable Israel to escape punishment.

The Russian delegate pointed out that the non-permanent members of the Security Council had prepared another “non-politicized” resolution regarding Gaza.

For his part, Chinese delegate Zhang Jun said that the Security Council is “fidgeting” but is not taking any measures to stop the fire in Gaza.

Seizure of lands in the West Bank

The Palestinian Wall and Settlement Resistance Authority announced – today, Friday – that Israel carried out the largest seizure of West Bank lands in 30 years during the year 2024, claiming that they are state lands.

The head of the government body, Moayed Shaaban, said – in a statement – that the areas seized by the occupation under the name of state lands amounted to a total of 10,640 dunums (a dunum equals a thousand square metres), in two separate announcements.

Earlier Friday, the Israeli Broadcasting Authority reported that 8,000 dunams had been allocated in the Jordan Valley as Israeli land for the construction of hundreds of housing units, in addition to an area designated for industry, trade, and employment.

Bombing in Lebanon

The Lebanese Hezbollah announced – on Friday – that it had targeted an Israeli military site and barracks, achieving “direct hits,” while Lebanese Prime Minister Najib Mikati spoke of “positive” diplomatic contacts to stop the Israeli aggression against Lebanon.

The party said that its fighters targeted the Ruwaisat al-Alam site in the occupied Kafar Shuba hills, and achieved direct hits. It added that its fighters attacked the Metula military site with a march, and hit a tank inside it. They also targeted two gatherings of Israeli soldiers in the vicinity of the Zarit barracks and the Jal al-Alam site with artillery shells.

Al Jazeera’s correspondent reported that 4 missiles were fired at two Israeli sites in the Kafr Shuba hills and the occupied Shebaa Farms.

On the other hand, Israeli fighters launched a raid on the town of Aita al-Shaab, and Israeli artillery bombed the surroundings of the towns of Khiam and Kafr Kila, in southern Lebanon.

Al Jazeera’s correspondent said that Israeli military aircraft launched two raids on the towns of Khiam and Taybeh in southern Lebanon on Friday evening.

Demonstrations in support of Gaza

Several demonstrations took place on Friday in a number of Arab countries in solidarity with the Gaza Strip, which has been subjected to a devastating Israeli war since the seventh of last October.

In Tunisia, Hizb ut-Tahrir (an Islamic party) organized a march in support of the people of Gaza after Friday prayers towards the municipal theater in Tunis.

In Bahrain, local platforms and accounts published scenes of a popular demonstration in the city of Diraz, northwest of the country, in support of Palestine and Gaza and to demand an end to the war and an end to starving the residents of the Strip.
