JERUSALEM – Israel’s government has approved the formation of a commission of inquiry into alleged police abuse of the Pegasus surveillance software. Ministers voted in favor of the proposal at a meeting in Jerusalem on Sunday, despite criticism from Israeli security officials. According to Justice Minister Yariv Levin’s proposal, the commission should, among other things, examine the behavior of the police and the public prosecutor’s office.
