Israeli warplanes struck “terrorist infrastructure” in Syria following firing from that territory towards the part of the Golan annexed by Israel, the Israeli army announced on Sunday.

“Recently ago, in response to the attack on the Golan Heights yesterday (Saturday), fighter jets struck terrorist infrastructure in Syria,” the army said in a short statement.

On Saturday, she indicated that two projectiles fired from Syria had fallen in uninhabited areas of the Golan and that rocket warning sirens had sounded in the region.

Israel had already struck Syria on Friday, following a drone falling on a school in Eilat (southern Israel) coming from Syria, according to her.

Israel conquered part of the Golan from Syria during the 1967 Arab-Israeli War before annexing this territory in 1981. This annexation is not recognized by the UN.

Exchanges of fire also take place repeatedly on the border between Israel and Lebanon, once morest a backdrop of war between Israel and Palestinian Hamas in Gaza.
