Graduating from FPT Aptech, Le Thanh Tung was one of the excellent programmers at that time. After graduating from school, Mr. Tung chose a rather strange direction to pursue his passion. This “turn” is not too strange when from an early age the artistic blood flowed in Tung’s body. When his peers entered the middle school, he was a student at Hanoi College of Arts majoring in folk music, majoring in bamboo flute.

Mr. Le Thanh Tung, the IT guy, changed the DJ world’s perception of Latin music.

In 2010, Mr. Tung became acquainted with Latin dances such as Salsa, Bachata. With natural talent, Tung soon became one of the “bright stars” in the dance world at that time. Then in 2013, fate brought Tung to the Kizomba dance – one of the latest Afro-Latin dances today. From here, Tung is also one of the people who laid the foundation for the dance until now, still enchanting young people who love this subject.

Realizing that Afro-Latin Street dance is an attractive dance but limited in music, Tung enrolled to learn DJ and determined to become a professional DJ. “The biggest difficulty when going to DJ school was that at that time people still had little sympathy for this subject. Everyone thinks DJs only play in bars, discos and exciting places, Tung shared.

Before “music”, Mr. Tung always aligns the device carefully.

Overcoming that concept, with the creative background of a programmer combined with well-educated musical knowledge, Tung soon became a professional DJ among Ha’s young people who love Afro-Latin Street dance. Noi and Vietnam. “My original goal was to play my favorite music in a healthy environment. Fortunately, there are many people with the same opinion as me, so the music I mix is also welcomed by everyone,” Tung said.

Over 10 years of playing music, from a guy who loves to dance, Tung has become a professional DJ who has been invited to play live music at many major international events in Taiwan, Korea, Malaysia, Singapore, India… In Vietnam Nam, he is one of the very few people who play live mixes on the DJ table at major Latin events.

Tung shared, over 10 years of playing music, I have remixed songs to serve young people who are passionate about dancing. For many years now, Tung has become a “commodity” that young dancers “scramble for” when he has to “serve” every week in both Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City. “Playing music for passion and in return for everyone’s love, but catxes don’t have enough money for plane tickets,” Tung said with a laugh.

Sharing more about his upcoming plans, Mr. Tung said: “Vietnamese people dance very well, but they are disadvantaged because they still have to go out thanks to foreign music. In the coming time, I will consider mixing Vietnamese songs with the characteristics of Vietnamese music with the point of view of cultural integration such as the Northwest flute or from pure Vietnamese songs. Tung shared, to mix a Vietnamese song, it takes at least a week before playing directly on the DJ table. “This is an artistic activity, not that it can be mixed. I will do it when the mood is most comfortable”, Mr. Tung shared his upcoming plan.

Currently, Mr. Tung is still creating a private playground for the entire Afro-Latin Street dance community in Hanoi. With the right desire to build community with the exchange nature of street dance.
