Iranian authorities banned a film festival because of a promotional poster that shows an actress without a veil on her head. The film shown on the poster dates back to 1982, that is, before the veil became compulsory throughout Iran.
According to state media, Iran’s Ministry of Culture and Islamic Guidance deemed the poster an “improper violation of laws”.
And earlier this month, Iran announced that its morality police would once once more begin to enforce a strict Islamic dress code.
