According to Xinhua News Agency, Beijing, July 12th, the comprehensive group of the State Council’s joint prevention and control mechanism for the new coronavirus pneumonia epidemic recently issued the “Notice on Further Optimizing the Prevention and Control of the New Coronary Pneumonia Epidemic of Imported Goods”, requiring all local joint prevention and control mechanisms should be strictly in accordance with the State Council. The relevant documents of the joint prevention and control mechanism require the implementation of epidemic prevention and control measures for imported non-cold chain items, and it is not allowed to introduce stricter control measures for imported non-cold chain items.

The notice pointed out that imported non-cold chain items refer to imported items whose transportation temperature is above 10°C. The latest research results show that under normal temperature conditions, the new coronavirus has a short survival time on the surface of most items, and is completely inactivated within 1 day.

The notice requires the implementation of graded and classified management of imported non-cold chain items.

In order to optimize and improve the epidemic prevention and control measures of imported cold chain food, the notice clarifies that the customs will continue to strengthen the source control, and the imported cold chain food tested positive for nucleic acid will be classified and classified in accordance with the provisions of the joint prevention and control mechanism of the State Council. Emergency preventive measures to suspend import declarations will not be taken against relevant overseas food production enterprises.
