Piero Rondolino, founder of Italian high-end rice production company Acquerello, is looking forward to attending the upcoming China International Consumer Products Expo. He hopes his products will help bring together the Chinese and Italian peoples, who both have unique culinary traditions.

The third edition of the exhibition will be held from April 10 to 15 in Haikou, capital of the southern province of Hainan in China. The Acquerello company will take part in the exhibition alongside 146 other Italian brands, with Italy being this year’s guest of honor.

Rondolino said he expects his products to be well received by Chinese consumers, who know everything there is to know about this staple.

“China is a great nation that enjoys a very important culture and a crucial global economic role, in addition to respecting diversity,” said Rondolino, saying that this exhibition will be a platform for each country and company to present to the public its own culture and its own beauty.

The Acquerello company was founded in 1991 in Piedmont, a region in northern Italy. It is the first Italian company to produce rice reintegrated with its germ after refining, a process considered to have both gastronomic and nutritional value.

Mr. Rondolino has witnessed the opening of China and the changes it has brought. “I hope our products will sell well in China, a big country with a diverse cuisine. I have to go see if there are any suitable dishes for our rice,” he said.
