Italy announced a large-scale hacker attack on computer servers around the world

Thousands of computer servers around the world, including France, Finland, the United States and Canada, have been hacked using ransomware. This was reported by the Italian National Cyber Security Agency (ACN), advising to take measures to protect computer systems.

Dozens of Italian organizations might have suffered. Earlier today, February 5, Telecom Italia customers complained regarding problems with the Internet, but these two problems were not considered related to each other.

The hacker attack was aimed at exploiting a software vulnerability, ACN CEO Roberto Baldoni told Archyde.com, adding that the attack was large-scale. The Italian agency ANSA, citing ACN, reported that servers were compromised in other countries as well.
