The rumors were true: the Harry Potter books are going to be adapted as a television series. Variety reports that the announcement was made during the presentation of Warner Bros. Discovery’s to the press and investors during which the Max platform was presented. Each season of the series will adapt a book and a whole new cast will take place. Warner Bros. Discovery’s presents the project as a series that will span a decade.
A video presentation has been unveiled for the occasion.

Harry Potter is a cultural phenomenon and it’s clear that there is such an enduring love and interest in the wizarding world. In partnership with Warner Bros. Television and JK Rowling, this new Max Original series will dive deep into each of the iconic books that fans have continued to enjoy all these years.”.
For her part, JK Rowling spoke out and said: Max’s commitment to preserving the integrity of my books is important to me, and I look forward to being a part of this new adaptation that will allow for a degree of depth and detail only offered by the length of a television series ».
JK Rowling will also serve as executive producer. Finally, the HBO Max series will be produced in collaboration with Brontë Film and TV and Warner Bros. Television.
