Ituri: ADF ambush leaves 2 dead in Irumu

Bunia, February 29, 2024 – Adf terrorists active in the southern part of Bunia, capital of the province of Ituri, set up a new ambush, Wednesday February 28, at the Sesa village in the Bandavilemba group, in the chiefdom of Walese Vonkutu, in Irumu territory.

The civil society of the Walese Vonkutu chiefdom, which confirms the news through its secretary Soniau Malangai Dieudonné, takes stock of two (2) civilians killed by these rebels and their auxiliaries active in the area.

The security situation in the Walese Vonkutu chiefdom is further deteriorating. We have just lost two people this Wednesday in an ambush by the Adf and their auxiliaries, he confirmed.

However, he deplores the resurgence of increased killings taking place in this entity, where in less than ten (10) days only more than twenty (20) people were cowardly killed by elements of this foreign armed group. He asks the soldiers engaged in Shujaa operations carried out by the joint forces FARDC of the Democratic Republic of Congo and UPDF of Uganda to track down this negative force, so that this Adf phenomenon is eradicated from the territory of Irumu.

“There are soldiers on this section, operations have already been launched, but we do not know why we are not pursuing these rebels and their auxiliaries. That our armies act to eradicate this phenomenon in our entities”, he added

Note that on site in the chiefdom of Walese Vonkutu, we report the multiplicity of attacks by the Adf once morest civilians, a situation which causes the massive displacement of the latter.
