Ivori Garden Poisoning Outbreak: Latest Updates and Compensation Claims

2023-10-27 17:47:08

The number of poisoned guests of the Ivori Garden restaurant in the center of St. Petersburg has reached the second dozen. The city Rospotrebnadzor reported this on October 27.

As the department clarified, as of October 26, 11 cases of intestinal infection were registered. At the same time, salmonella was detected in eight sick people.

A week ago, nine people were known to have been poisoned, five of whom were hospitalized at the Botkin Hospital. Fontanka reported that bacteria of the genus Salmonella were found in samples of Vitello sauce, which is prepared directly in the restaurant.

Rospotrebnadzor inspected the establishment on 8th Sovetskaya Street on October 20. The first result was a protocol on a temporary ban on activities in relation to the Fitness Food legal entity. The restaurant itself stated that they paused work on the 18th, when they received complaints from two poisoned visitors.

Whether Ivori Garden will open in the near future will be decided by the Smolninsky District Court. The general director of the company assures that all the flaws have been corrected, but Rospotrebnadzor insists that the restaurant should remain closed for some more time.

“The department is ready to act in court in defense of the victims in order to compensate for material and moral damage; for this, the victims need to send a claim to Fitness-Food LLC at the legal address demanding compensation for moral and material damage,” Rospotrebnadzor reported.

They promise to advise by phone 8 (812) 764-02-34, ext. 1288.
